About Us

Welcome to Digestive Disease ConsultantsDigestive Disease Consultants offers patients and their referring physicians in the greater Orlando area the highest quality in state-of-the-art care for digestive and liver disorders in a comfortable, safe, and efficient environment. We provide specialized care using the latest in technology with a team of highly skilled and board-certified doctors, dedicated nurses and courteous staff to facilitate your medical care.

We have been serving the digestive health needs of Central Florida since 1988 and now have six physicians and one nurse practitioner, with offices in Altamonte Springs and Oviedo, to make your experience as convenient as possible.

Our doctors have received awards and recognition, including Orlando’s Top Doctors 2002, 2003, 2004; Chief of Staff at Florida Hospital Altamonte; and Chief of Staff at Winter Park Memorial Hospital.

David H. Lebioda, M.D.
Dr. Lebioda received his Medical Doctorate from Indiana University in 1980. He then attended the University of South Florida, where he completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Gastroenterology. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Lebioda is married and has one son. The majority of his spare time is involved with coaching Little League/Babe Ruth in Winter Springs, where his son has been participating for the last seven years. Most recently, Dr. Lebioda has been promoted to the chief caddy for his son, who has also been successful on the 11-under golf circuit by winning the State Championship and participating in the World Championships for the last two years.

Richard J. Straker, M.D.
Dr. Richard Straker received his Medical Doctorate from the Medical College of Ohio in 1982. He then attended the University of South Florida, where he completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Gastroenterology. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Straker is married and has one son and one daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, hiking, and traveling.

Barry R. Katz, M.D.
Dr. Barry Katz received his Medical Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in 1985. He then attended Mt. Sinai Medical Center where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and University Hospitals of Cleveland where he completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Katz is married and has one son and one daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, biking, and reading.

Harry H. Shephard, M.D.
Dr. Harry Shephard received his Medical Doctorate from Catholic University in Guayaquil, Ecuador, South America in 1985. He then attended the University of Miami, where he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Gastroenterology. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Shephard is married and has one son and one daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys spending his free time with his family, traveling, and he is an avid runner.

Raaj K. Popli, M.D.
Dr. Raaj Popli received his Medical Doctorate from the Medical College of Virginia in 1997. He then attended the University of South Florida, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Gastroenterology. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Popli is married and in his spare time he enjoys sports, movies, and socializing with friends.

Sanjay K. Reddy, M.D.
Dr. Sanjay Reddy was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. He received his Medical Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1998. He then attended Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Gastroenterology. Dr. Reddy is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the Seminole County Medical Society. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Reddy is married and has a daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family in Central Florida, reading, traveling, and working on never-ending home and garden projects.
